About Member Feedback

Martin Slack

Many of you know me as Martin, the trained front-end web developer. I have been building websites using Wordpress or Astro for more than ten years. Many of these websites have been for clubs or organisations with members, such as golf clubs, producer associations or churches. You can see many examples in my portfolio.

What most of my website clients may not know is that, prior to my web developer career, I was a marketing and social researcher with a university education in economics and statistics. I was a registered QPR (Qualified Professional Researcher) with the Market Research Society in Australia.

It occurred to me that there was an opportunity to combine these two sets of skills to offer an online feedback service.

Most online surveys I come across are superficial, poorly designed and based on self-selecting respondents. This is often because the authors of these surveys are developers, untrained in questionnaire or sample design.

Member-based organisations are ideal for feedback surveys because they have a finite list of members. This provides a concrete sampling frame from which either a sample can be randomly chosen or a census conducted.

You can see more detail about how member feedback surveys are conducted on the “How It Works” page.
